Following the Airport Health Contingency Plan (APHCP) and (SOP Version 2.2) issued by the Myanmar Health Authority, YACL, the operator of Yangon International Airport (YIA) has continued to maintain the health & safety protocols for preventive measures for the containment of the COVID-19 viral outbreak. To be a safer environment for all airport users, including the staff working at the airport, YACL conducts the following actions;
Health and Hygiene Measures in the Terminals
✅ Frequent Deep Cleaning and Disinfecting of High Contacted Surfaces such as floors, carpet, walls, toilets, baggage trolleys, lifts, escalators, and handrails to minimize the impact on viral transmission
✅ Enhanced to Airport Terminal Building as "Hygiene Theater," reduced the number of Entrance Points for the Airport Terminal Buildings, and restricting to passengers holding a valid ticket and staff on duty only
✅ Installed contactless hand sanitizers stations and Contactless Thermal Screening (CTS) for all airport users (passengers and staff) at the security screening check-points
✅ Systematic entry by following the Social Distancing systems and demarcation within the entry lines
✅ Fully-Protected Passenger Check-in installing acrylic shield
✅ Increased frequency of waste disposal;
✅ Strengthen air ventilation and periodically cleaning of air-condition units and filters;
✅ Strict prohibition of Betel chewing and spitting at any public areas within the Terminals or its vicinity
✅ Daily briefings with cleaning staff regarding the correct usage of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) while performing housekeeping works and disinfection procedures afterward.
Health and Hygiene Measures in Airside
✅ Implementation of 8 dedicated airside stations to properly collect Hazardous Wastes (aircraft cleaning and disinfection) and establish Disinfection Units in Apron.
Since 08 March 2020, YACL reinforced its regular maintenance on terminals and airside facilities and implementing all measures considered in the Airport Public Health Contingency Plan (APHCP), approved by the Regulator, stepping up the safeguard for the health of the airport users and travelers as well as providing enhanced operational supports at the airside areas for airlines and ground handlers.
Yangon International Airport provided all the necessary public health requirements and procedures to provide a safe travel experience and clean environment for our airport users.
Passengers are also encouraged to cooperate with the health-guidelines.
